The NEW MOON in Taurus is upon us in a few days and always what a joyous and welcome NEW MOON it is, what with flowers blossoming like mad all around, the creek flowing madly, and MARS finally moving DIRECT.

I could FEEL MARS click into forward gear as a writing project I have been stalling and procrastinating on for months FINALLY got done.
As you probably know John Corsa and I have been compiling the amazing channeled messages coming through Cadence Deerheart, whose channeled material is all about the NEW ENERGIES of LOVE coming to us all these days.
This channeled material is so beautiful, infused with LOVE as it is, that your heart cracks open each time you read the material, or even just hold the book!

We are SUPER excited to to be able to bring these LOVE-infused writings to you and personally, it has felt incredible to finally get these projects to the
formater and off my insanely cluttered desk!

Hopefully MARS moving DIRECT has also jump-started some good projects in your own life. If not, not to worry, things will be moving and shaking, rocking and rolling before too long. This is inevitable.

Pluto Station is not a stop on A train

So maybe you are getting familiar with the term RETROGRADE what with the chatter about Mercury retrograde (done for now – next 3 week stint begins July 15th) or Mars retrograde which is done on April 14th and won’t go retrograde for another 2 years
and also that Saturn is going retrograde now until June 25th. Pluto is preparing to go retrograde on the 12th but right now is STATIONING.

When a planet is STATIONING think of it as hovering almost still at a particular degree and minute as it collects its bearings to begin either a retrograde(backward) motion or direct (forward) motion. Think of a cruise ship and how when that ship needs to make a turn it will slow down almost to halt in order to make that turn. It’s somewhat like that but happening in the giant cosmic sea and there are no fishies out there.

If you are born when a planet is STATIONING you carry the signature of that planet. Born at a PLUTO station? Expect endless skin-shedding and personal transformation throughout your lifetime, a desire to know the ins and outs of POWER and the ability to clear out a room with  the force of your intensity. Sounds thrilling, I know.

During the time of a planet transiting (now!) the energy of that planet is focused and intensified in your life. Where Pluto at 9 degrees Capricorn falls in your personal chart will show where this delving into your own personal depths will be occurring and where the focus of transformation will be directed over the next 5 months. New York recap: Following the BIG astro trends

John Corsa and I had a delightful evening gathering with New Yorkers at the Meta Center NY for our east coast debut of our collaborative Ignite Your Soul Potential – opening to the One Heart Consciousness work. It was great fun for us to connect with clients we had only worked with on the phone (great to put faces with names) as well as dear friends and family who had ventured out on a Monday evening to ignite LOVE and JOY in their heart. We can come to your neighborhood and do the same – and we would love to!

Jan Pedis, make-up artist and hair stylist, who has been reading my emails for years , but whom I had never met in person, well-connected at the Meta Center NY, helped us set up and all, gave me some valuable insight feedback – that I make astrology palatable to the lay person ( I try!) as astrology can get deeply technical very quickly and then it’s so easy top get lost. And who needs more getting lost?

This made me think how important it is for the layperson and beginning astrology student to follow the big-picture trends and not to get caught up in the minutiae of the daily events. Too much navel-gazing can cause quite a neck strain. It’s the BIG TRENDS that are going to affect you the most and the ones you will notice impact your emotional and physical environment.

The Moon’s movement, which changes signs every 2 and a half days, and the other personal planets – Mercury, Venus, and Mars- are only relevant if they are going retrograde (backwards) or if you are looking for specific info about a specific date -like planning an event or scheduling some dental work or elective surgery.  Mostly I would say it makes way more sense to have some awareness of the big planets  – Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto -  and where they are working on your chart by specific degree.

Knowing this information can significantly help you manage the inevitable effects of the necessary transformations taking place in your life. If  a big planet is sitting on, opposing, or making a 90 degree square to any of the planets or pivotal points in your birth chart – you need to know!

New Moon in Aries: Ready, set…

We had a beautiful gathering /celebration for the Equinox here in Boulder as Venus and

Jupiter frolicked together in the western sky over the foothills, following on the tail of the Sun, filling our hungry consciousnesses with LOVE and ABUNDANCE. I heard tell that even a moon of Jupiter was visible with the naked eye. Whatever you were doing the Equinox has occurred – the days are getting longer and longer as we move towards the longest day of the year, the Summer Solstice in June.

Today the New Moon is an Aries extravaganza with the Sun, Moon, Mercury in its backward movement towards a revisiting in Pisces, Uranus, the chaos maker and liberator of whatever needs liberating, Ceres, the harvest goddess, and Vesta, the keeper and tender of the temple fires, all radiant in dynamic Mars-ruled Aries.

Now you’d think it would be a blow-up, no holds barred explosion of Aries energy but remember that Mars, the ruler of Aries, is still moving retrograde in Virgo, where he is busy reconsidering action. So if you feel like the emergency brake is still on as you are trying to get up to speed on the highway of your life, it is indeed so.

You will feel the URGE to bust out and make things happen but hold on just a bit longer while you continue to work on the plans and ideas you have been brewing .
By mid-April when both Mercury and Mars will go direct you will feel the wind at your back, more able to move forward with ease and grace. No need to try to push yourself through right now as there is a timing factor here and the timing says: not quite yet.

Just as the buds of spring blossoms adjust their arrival to the temperatures and light of their environment so to you, as a being of divine NATURE, are best to attune with the flow of forces so you too will blossom forth at just the right time for you.

Saturn is moving retrograde in Libra these days – the perfect time to revisit relationships with maturity and responsible action and communication. Strive for harmony and balance in all your comings and goings, beginning with your relationship with yourself. The more centered, calm, and focused on PEACE in your heart you are, the easier you will experience your life to be.

Even though a jar of pickles tipped over and covered the inhabitants of my fridge with pickle juice I laughed through the whole midnight clean-up process because I am committed to staying peaceful, even as the details of 3D daily life (my iphone refuses to download any recorded sessions and it looks like I have to visit the “geniuses” at the Apple store – a dreaded fate) converge to bring chaos and disruption.

It is clear we have limited control over many things but what you do have control over is your responses to whatever may be coming down the path of your LIFE. With this new influx of ARIES energy CHOOSE to open your heart with JOY, igniting PEACE and LOVE in you and all you touch today.

Also, after so many drops to the floor, I had to dispose of my camera and forget the iphone to take pictures I can actually download so more photos will be coming after I have reconciliation with all my rebellious equipment, and God only knows when that will be. In the meantime go toy our local crystal shop and search out some RED AGATE for yourself. It’s FUN to go to the crystal shop anyway so make an outing of it  for yourself and have yourself a day.

It’s Mercury retrograde again and I’m here to tell you there’s nothing to fret and fuss about – let’s harness that magical energy of Mercury and make this 3-week period (which happens to overlap with MARS retrograde) work for you. Yes, indeed, you can work with the energy of the planets and not at all be victimized by them.

Sometimes I hear people say they are afraid of astrology or afraid to have a reading because they don’t want to hear something bad.

Bad is what YOU create, not what the stars create.

Life is flowing, changing, morphing, evolving every single moment that you live and breathe on this gorgeous planet. You know perfectly well that LIFE is not stagnant and yet when LIFE brings changes you look to blame all kinds of outside forces (even the planets!) when all that’s happening is necessary growth and change – all necessary for your personal evolution, the evolution of our group consciousness and the evolution of the planet.

Knowing what the astrological weather is prepares you to be aware and FREE to choose how to respond to changing conditions in your emotional, psychic, and physical environment.  The desire to not know, to stay asleep at the wheel, is counterproductive to your evolution. So let’s talk about Mercury retrograde.  We know that during Mercury retrograde periods (of which there are 3 or 4 a year that run for a  3-week period)  things can seem to go seriously awry. Appointments are missed. Conversations misunderstood. Technological glitches are rampant as are electronic and mechanical breakdowns. Commitments are reneged. Contracts can be misleading and need to be re-worked. Equipment purchased may very well need to be returned (save your receipts!)
OK, so these things can certainly happen. So what?
You can work yourself into a HUGE snit over things going wrong OR you can tap into the magic of Mercury ( hey! a dude with wings on his feet has certainly got something magical about him, right? of course!). Consider not getting wigged out when things go opposite to your plans. Maybe something extra-special happens because you missed that bus, or lost that person’s voice mail, or needed a day (or many) away from a crashed computer. Get yourself OUT into NATURE and watch the buds bursting on the branches. Look for Spring’s first violets and grape hyacinths. Look for JOY. Choose not to focus on what’s not working and
REVEL in all that IS working.
Sounds easy. It IS easy – it just requires practice. Good. Now just do it and see how you can turn this Mercury retrograde period in dreamy Pisces into the best one you’ve ever had, as it should be as it’s the one you’re in right now.

Full Moon in Virgo: balancing the analytical with the intuitive

The crocuses are busting up in my neighborhood and I actually hung sheets out on the clothesline today. Simple pleasures in the chaos of a quickly changing world helps me to keep my life simplified with the illusion of being manageable. I have to kid myself occasionally that I have some semblance of control otherwise I feel like I could just catapult myself right off this wild ride!

In spite of Mars (the action planet) moving retrograde in Virgo and Mercury soon to join him in retrograde motion in Virgo’s opposite sign Pisces, I miraculously have been able to make a bit of headway in my own endless list of projects and must-be-dones. How about you? How’s that list going?

The Pisces-Virgo axis of influence is the dominant theme for this Full Moon and for the coming weeks. The full moon sees the Sun in Pisces and the moon opposite in Virgo. Mars retrograde in Virgo will soon be opposing Mercury retrograde in Pisces (I know I already said this but, believe me, it bears repeating).

Consider the analytical antics of Virgo trying to come to some peaceful comaraderie with the intuitive, heart-centered dreaminess of Pisces. It’s like your accountant and your massage therapist going tete-a-tete. Or an engineer trying to get his head around an astrology chat. Clearly there has to be lots of give-and-take on both sides.

Inside your intricate make-up you have these opposing forces working as well. Your job, over these next few weeks, is to balance the analytical with the compassionate heart, the thinking part with the feeling part.

Mars is retrograde in Virgo right now (until April 14th) and I’m feeling it. I’m rethinking , reconfiguring, reorganizing my plan of action, and realigning my sense of purpose. Nothing’s really happening in a major way yet except a lighter feeling that things are preparing to move. And I can sniff some evidence of movement, of change.

John and I successfully booked our upcoming Ignite Your Soul’s Potential – One Heart Consciousness event in New York on April 9th! I grew up in the Bronx and returning to the city to do an evening at the Meta Center is thrilling for me. More about that on our EVENTS page.

After a series of pummeling aspects from Uranus I do feel somewhat more liberated in my attitudes and that’s a grand relief, all in all. Not quite so controlling, though I do have to say the process of liberation was fairly excruciating (not for the feint of heart) and I’m glad that part is over, at least for now.

That’s the beauty of knowing astrology and knowing your chart. You know when things will begin and about when they will end. I was talking to a  flight attendant client the other day and I was commenting on how when you’re flying if you’re told the turbulence will last such and such amount of time, even though your guts are in your throat and your heart is in your hand you can pretty much tolerate it. But if you’re never told it will end you could find yourself running up and down the aisles screaming like a banshee – or want to.

I find that having the timing info really helps me enjoy the ride so much more. And it’s really all about the ride, isn’t it?

Academy Awards Epiphany

Mega Leo that I am I never miss an Academy Awards show. I would LOVE to actually be present at one happening LIVE but for now couch-viewing serves me just fine. It’s as close to royalty worship as we get these days. And Leos just love their remembrances of being royalty. Ah! the clothes! not to mention the help.

As I was watching the show and they came upon the part where they do a tribute to all who have passed on this year I realized that movie stars actually never die. Their art, their films, their faces, their mannerisms, the love we have in our audience hearts never dies- and in that way they are truly the gods and goddesses of our times – immortal.

And that is why we love and adore them so much. They represent our human desire to live forever – beautiful, glamorous, and loved.

And under the present Neptunian influences, what with Neptune returned to his home sign of Pisces, Chiron, the wounded healer, in Pisces, along with the Sun and Mercury also in Pisces, it’s quite a Neptunian time. Neptune rules film, glamor, illusion, and a certain quality of divine Love. I know when I saw the photo of Whitney Houston I had to cry all over again, lost as she was in a Neptunian battle of drugs, alcohol, and a profound lack of self-love.

Perhaps this is the perfect time to look at the glamor and illusion you create in your own life, where you cut yourself off from loving yourself (we all do it), Some time spent in meditation, connecting with your own higher guidance, is just the cure for self-delusion, the story we tell ourselves that we are any less than the magnificent creators of our reality that we are.

It’s a moment-to-moment practice to nurture and feed self-love. But really, do you have anything at all better to do than that?

A strong Neptune-infusion can look like many things – surrender to the cosmic dance of forces, melting into the feeling of divine love and forgiveness, plummeting into the pit of addictions and escape, dreaming of the ideal anything and everything.

Also remember that Mars is still retrograde so even though you might be trying to move forward and you just can’t seem to – it’s to be expected.
Take a rest. Take a load off. All is unfolding in Divine timing.

3. TRUST

I failed all these courses numerous times – these are SO hard for me.
